Does everything in my carry on bag need to be in clear plastic bags, or only the liquids?

It is my understanding that you only need to put the liquids, gels, etc. in the 1 qt. bag. Otherwise you can pack your carry on bag as usual with your makeup and aspirin, etc. in your makeup case. Is this correct?Does everything in my carry on bag need to be in clear plastic bags, or only the liquids?
Here in Europe liquids are limited to 100ml per container and no more containers than would fit in a one-litre plastic bag.

Everything else I double bag and put in the hold.

This rule however has not been relaxed with respect to travel in or out of the US. It is still a Zero policy.

As of yet no problem with small amounts of basic counter drugs or authorised prescriptions.Does everything in my carry on bag need to be in clear plastic bags, or only the liquids?
You can't have anything that is a liquid. Unless it is a medicine and you have the prescription to use it on the plane.
only liquids need to be in the quart bag. Although, makeup and such should be packed in your checked bags to avoid problems.

You can take a few basics and put them in your purse, but I wouldn't throw your entire makeup kit into your carryon.
You are correct.
